About Us
Narratives Not Numbers is my brainchild, born from a deep belief that storytelling drives understanding and action more powerfully than data alone. While numbers offer structure and scope, we inevitably interpret them through our own subjective lenses. In contrast, qualitative data and ethnographic insights bring human complexity to life—but they’re often too dense or inaccessible for time-strapped decision-makers.
Narratives Not Numbers bridges this gap. It distills rich ethnographic and qualitative research into clear, compelling narratives that highlight the “so what?”––the critical takeaways that matter for policy, strategy, and social impact. Though rooted in anthropology, the platform now spans education, equity, culture, and community with the aim of making lived experience visible, and actionable, across sectors.
Our mission
Making ethnographic data accessible for busy policymakers through critical summaries and policy recommendations.
Our vision
We want to help build a world where stories become evidence, and evidence becomes policy!
